In Nov. 16’s Federal Register, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it is automatically extending the validity of Temporary Protected Status-related documentation for beneficiaries under the TPS designations of El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Sudan and Nepal from Dec. 31, 2022, to June 30, 2024. The TPS-related documents covered by this notice are Employment Authorization Documents, Notices of Action (Forms I-797) and Arrival/Departure Records (Forms I-94).
JLG’s parent company, Oshkosh Corporation, announced Nov. 15 that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Hinowa, a manufacturer of track-based aerial work platforms, mini dumpers, lift trucks and undercarriages. Once complete, Hinowa will become part of the Oshkosh Access Equipment segment, which also includes the JLG and Jerr-Dan brands.

A measure of construction contractors’ bid prices moved sharply higher in October as firms coped with ongoing supply chain challenges and a tight labor market, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government data released Nov. 15. Association officials said rising construction costs threaten to undermine demand for projects and urged administration officials to remove remaining tariffs on construction materials and to boost investments in construction-focused education and training.
