The National Academy of Construction has selected Edd Gibson to be the next NAC president and CEO, commencing Jan. 1, 2023. The Executive Committee made their decision on July 20 after a nationwide search. Gibson will be formally introduced as the Academy’s leader at the NAC Hall of Fame Gala in Scottsdale, Arizona, in October.

Construction Association official says supply chain challenges and lack of workers is suppressing demand for new construction amid higher construction costs and longer schedules
Total construction spending fell by 1.1% in June as spending on new housing and nonresidential projects declined compared to May, according to an analysis the Associated General Contractors of America released today of federal spending data. Association officials said that the construction spending figures are being impacted as materials and labor shortages are slowing schedules and increasing the cost of construction.

Knauf is the Official Glass Recycling Partner of the Music City Grand Prix festival in Nashville and is launching a major glass recycling initiative. Glass will be collected across the Nashville entertainment districts starting July 1 and culminating at the Nissan Stadium campus race weekend Aug. 5-7. The goal is to collect 150,000 glass bottles.
