The EIFS Industry Members Association announced the election of officers to its board of directors for the 2025-2027 term. These esteemed leaders, representing some of the most influential companies in the exterior insulation and finish systems industry, will guide EIMA’s mission to advance the industry.

In 2022, the insulation industry worked tirelessly to secure critical improvements to the 25C energy-efficient home improvement tax credit. Thanks to these efforts, the industry succeeded in extending the credit for 10 years, significantly increasing its value and ensuring that it can be utilized by taxpayers annually.

The EIFS Industry Members Association honors the longstanding service and efforts of late President Jimmy Carter — especially with respect to energy policy.

Three jury panels consisting of architects, engineers, and precast concrete producers selected a total of 24 winners and 14 honorable mentions. 

Suffolk Construction, a drywall contractor, lost a July 2024 court case against Titus Construction Group, a subcontractor, but the case is not over yet, reported Richard Korman of Engineering News-Record. Titus’ surety, Berkley Insurance Co., has requested that Suffolk pays its attorneys’ fees and trial costs as well.

The ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, recently removed its lawsuit against two contractors that supposedly started a fire near its campus, reported MyNewsLA. The fire caused the campus to shut down temporarily, as well as damage to the landscape.

To combat supply chain issues, a labor shortage and other industry challenges, drywall contractors have been incorporating automation into their work, according to HP. These tools have helped contractors with efficiency, quality, consistency and costs.

Theo Cramer, superintendent of Isle of Wight County Schools in Virginia, worked for his family’s drywall company before going into education. Now, Cramer is again putting his drywall skills to the test as he helps with the renovation of the school district’s new office.
