Just reading the title of this article gets my blood pumping a little faster. I started out working for my grandfather in his construction company. He had a hard time getting people to do the drywall work, so I taught myself how to tape and eventually went out on my own doing small drywall jobs.
Being educated on new solutions for the drywall industry has the potential to drastically reduce contractor callbacks, while also raising the standards of the trade.
We would hang and tape drywall, as much as we could, as fast as we could. We did quality work but like a lot of drywall companies, we thought the money was in the quantity of work done and not so much in the quality.

I still operate a small drywall company and most days I am out in the field hanging and taping board. In addition, I do training throughout the year at trade shows and of course still write articles pertaining to the drywall industry. This business is working out real good. I find out about new products, sometimes even before they are out in the market. I field test and sometimes demonstrate a company's tool or various products.
