The White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs announced that it is reviewing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s final rule on “Personal Protective Equipment in Construction.” SWACCA submitted joint comments with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades supporting the proposed rule on Sept. 15, 2023.

SWACCA and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades submitted a joint comment letter supporting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s proposed rule to specifically require that the personal protective equipment construction employers are required to provide properly fits workers.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration published a proposed rule to revise its personal protective equipment standard for construction to explicitly require that PPE must fit properly to protect workers from workplace hazards.

DuPont announced on Dec. 6 an expanded partnership with Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves communities before, during and after disasters and crises. This deeper partnership includes donations of Tyvek protective apparel, personal protective equipment applications training and educational support, safety-oriented content for their website, access to safety personnel, potential volunteers and awareness-building inside and outside of DuPont.
