At the 2024 AWCI Opening Session Breakfast, John Hinson of MAREK Bros. was honored with the Pinnacle Award. The AWCI Pinnacle Award is given to an individual who most merits the industry’s highest recognition.

Leadership comes in all shapes and sizes. There are many facets to what we may consider true showmanship to be. Earlier this year, Walls & Ceilings put out a call to those in the industry to select a person it believes holds the highest leadership attributes.

At the 2023 AWCI Opening Session Breakfast, Compass Construction Vice President Brent Allen was honored with the Pinnacle Award. The AWCI Pinnacle Award is given to an individual who most merits the industry’s highest recognition.

During AWCI’s sessions on March 15, several contractors will gather for a roundtable to discuss the issue of safety. Among the panel are Marek Bros.’ John Hinson, Raymond Group’s Travis Winsor and Performance Contracting Group’s Shawn Burnum.

This year, AWCI offers several seminars that will benefit all attendees. W&C outlines those seminars that happen from March 15-16.

AWCI’s Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual for exemplary volunteer service to the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry.

George Kutcher received the inaugural AWCI Distinguished Service Award on April 6 at the AWCI Convention & INTEX Expo in Grapevine, Texas, in recognition of his years of exemplary volunteer service to AWCI.

AWCI and CISCA's 2021 Conventions & INTEX Expo, originally scheduled for this April in New Orleans, Louisiana, has moved to October 17-20, 2021.
