The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance has released the third edition of FenestrationMasters, its flagship education program. FenestrationMasters offers professional certification and education that covers the full breadth of the fenestration industry, including performance standards, products and materials, test methods and code requirements.
On Nov. 14, the U.S. Green Building Council released a report that highlights the organization’s impact through its LEED program and the global green building community, which has driven the green building movement.
The Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council, which sponsors and coordinates the North American Contractor Certification and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician programs, North America’s only third-party credentials for glazing contractors and glaziers, has entered into exploratory talks to identify collaboration opportunities with the National Glass Association, a provider of glass industry resources, such as MyGlassClass.com, technical manuals and industry events.
The Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council hosted its annual meeting in Salt Lake City on Oct. 23-24. During the meeting, AGMCC announced a new website and continued progress with both the North American Contractor Certification and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician programs, North America’s only third-party credentials for glazing contractors and glaziers.
The Metal Construction Association is reinvigorating its MCM System Fabricator Certification program. Through the program, companies that fabricate metal composite material panels for architectural use can earn certification by meeting requirements for experience, services, MCM system performance and financial strength.
Third-party contractor accreditation programs are required in specifications around the world. Special inspection agencies and their inspectors are required to demonstrate competence and relevant experience. This is demonstrated by passing a Firestop Exam.
ClarkDietrich has published an Environmental Product Declaration Optimization Report for its low-embodied-carbon cold-formed steel products, becoming the first steel framing manufacturer to have the data available to help achieve credit for Option Two under LEED v4.1’s “Material and Resources Credit: EPDs.”
Dow announced that its PO/PG and polyols manufacturing factory in Freeport, Texas, received an International Sustainability and Carbon Certification PLUS certification. The newly ISCC PLUS certified polyurethanes site will produce solutions for the automotive, construction, consumer, food, fragrances, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.
