The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Design Precast pilot competition was a rousing success, with a three-student team from the University of Maryland winning first place.

In early October, Simpson Strong-Tie hosted nearly 400 high school students during Trades Day events at its facilities in Stockton, California; Riverside, California; and McKinney, Texas.

The Refractories Institute announced the 2024 recipients of college scholarships for students pursuing an education related to refractory science. TRI, which is comprised of approximately 50 member-companies that operate in the refractory industry, awards scholarships annually.

Simpson Strong-Tie has announced the recipients of its Student Scholarship for the 2024–2025 academic year. The 120 scholarship recipients are undergraduates majoring in architecture, civil/structural engineering or construction management/technology across the country. The scholarship awards $3,000 to qualifying university students to help them meet tuition costs.

The Metal Construction Association announced that five outstanding students affiliated with MCA member-companies have been chosen as the first recipients of the association’s scholarship program. Through this new MCA member benefit, funding has been awarded to five students to help them pursue their dreams.

RIDGID hosted its third annual “We Love STEM Day” in June for Ohio students in grades three through eight. The event is designed to expose young learners to the real-world roles that science, technology, engineering and mathematics play in their everyday lives and potential future careers.
