Turner Construction Co. paused work on 1,500 projects around the world on May 1 to hold its annual company-wide Safety Stand-Down. A safety stand-down is when a company and/or person stops work to gather and deliberately discuss personal well-being and how we will stay safe.

On Thursday, April 9th, hundreds of construction firms from across the country will stop work and hold coronavirus-focused safety stand downs as part of a nationwide safety campaign organized by the Associated General Contractors of America.
JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company and a manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, is supporting National Fall Prevention Safety Stand-Down Week.
The safety events are organized from May 7-11, 2018 and will be conducted nationwide, including high-visibility events where both Werner and OSHA representatives will be participating.
To support the OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to prevent falls in construction, Houston South Area Office OSHA U.S. Department of Labor, Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston, American Subcontractors Association-Houston Chapter, Central South Carpenters Regional Council, Gulf Coast Safety Institute/College of the Mainland, and Scaffold & Access Industry Association have aligned to offer the Houston area construction industry an afternoon of presentations and demonstrations to assist in preventing falls.
