The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance has announced that the SprayFoam 2025 Convention and Expo, also known as “SPRAYTONA,” will be held Feb. 9-12 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The event will bring together professionals in spray foam insulation, roofing, specialty applications, concrete lifting, coatings and related equipment from the U.S. and abroad.
Many spray foam contractors are aware that the industry is transitioning from closed-cell foams using HFC blowing agents to systems using low global warming potential, HFO blowing agents. The new HFO blowing agents significantly reduce the carbon footprint of closed-cell SPF, compared to HFC foams.

The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance has announced the impending retirement of Richard S. Duncan, PhD, PE, from his full-time role as executive director. A well-respected, longtime member of the polyurethanes and spray foam industries, Duncan will complete his term with the SPFA in April and will stay on in a consulting role as technical director.

This marks half a century (yes, 50 years) of the SPF industry being served by a trade association. It all started in 1973 with the Urethane Foam Contractors Association. Through the years, that association has taken on new names but in 2003, SPFA, as we currently know it, was named.
