At the 2016 INTEX Expo, CEMCO announced that it has joined the Steel Framing Industry Association. SFIA is the leading trade association dedicated to expanding the market for cold-formed steel in construction through programs and initiatives that promote the use of cold formed steel framing as a sustainable and cost-effective solution.

This announcement also included the appointment CEMCO’s President Tom Porter as Secretary of SFIA for the next two years.

"CEMCO and the Steel Framing Industry Association share a common vision of what it takes to improve steel framing products, to educate builders and specifiers, and to expand the market for light gauge steel framing," said Steve Farkas, corporate marketing manager, CEMCO. "As an SFIA member, we look forward to participating in efforts to advance those common interests in concert with other like-minded companies from across the cold-formed steel industry."

Founded in 1974, CEMCO is recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of steel framing and metal lath systems in the United States with four strategically located manufacturing facilities. Two of those facilities are in California, one is in Denver, Colorado and one is in Fort Worth, Texas.

"CEMCO manufactures products for all areas of light gauge steel framing, and will bring both insight and a high level of expertise to SFIA," said Larry Williams, executive director, SFIA. "As a company that places an emphasis on quality management, engineering and testing to improve products and grow the cold-formed steel market, CEMCO will be a valuable resource in helping advance the industry’s technical and marketing initiatives."
