The Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association will introduce three significant changes for its upcoming Austin Convention & Trade Show, November 12-14.

NEW: On November 12, following the morning’s educational workshops, a special luncheon will be held for STAFDA members 35 years old and younger. The Young Professionals Luncheon is designed to introduce like-minded Millennials to each other. The luncheon will feature a speaker who will share tips on how to work with the “older” generation.

NEW: Also on Sunday, STAFDA will introduce a Speed Interviewing session with upper classmen from Purdue University, Texas A&M, and the University of Texas/Austin. The students will either have an industrial distribution or construction management major. Students will submit their resumes to be posted in the members-only section of www.stafda.org for member review. The Speed Interviewing is open to STAFDA distributors, manufacturers, and rep agents. Members represent everything from small to mid-sized companies to multi-conglomerates so the students will be meeting with businesses of varied size who serve countless industrial/construction markets. Several hires at STAFDA companies have come from interns-turned-employees so even if a student doesn’t get a job offer, he/she could land an internship which could lead to a job after graduation. The students will also attend the Young Professionals Luncheon, Opening Party, General Session, and Trade Show.

NEW: As STAFDA’s Trade Show continues to grow, the footprint of some exhibitors has grown to epic proportions. STAFDA wants to unclog aisles and break up the inline look for a cleaner show. In order to do this, STAFDA will be offering 50 foot by 50 foot Island Booths. The island booths for Austin will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and strategically placed throughout the hall.

STAFDA’s 41st Annual Convention & Trade Show in Austin is for members only! For more information on the STAFDA Convention & Trade Show or membership, please contact Catherine Usher, cusher@stafda.org.
