GMS Inc. has announced that Eric Sundby has joined GMS as chief information officer. A more than 20-year IT industry veteran, Sundby will be responsible for overseeing the company’s IT strategy. He joined GMS in April.
Sundby comes to GMS from Genuine Parts Company, where he was the vice president of Corporate Information Technology and Shared Services. While at GPC, Sundby was responsible for the overall IT strategy as well as the company’s security and technology. Prior to his work at GPC, he was the National Vice President for Diversified Computer Consultants, where he built a practice from the ground up to sell technical solutions to multiple levels of technical managers and CIOs. His diverse background also includes experience as an Infrastructure Architect and Team Lead for Price Waterhouse and a Manager of Technical Services for Medaphis, a leading medical accounts receivable management service. Sundby served in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded several medals and achievement certificates for excellence.
