In a truly historic move, Nancy Brinkerhoff has been named the first woman to be president of AWCI. The CEO and President of Ironwood Commercials Inc. will serve as the association’s president beginning July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. She succeeds outgoing president Jerry Smith, of Baker Triangle.

In an exclusive pre-interview with Walls & Ceilings, the California resident said she is looking forward to this experience. Brinkerhoff said that among her immediate goals is to grow membership — particularly with millennials — for AWCI. She will also assist the association in finding the next executive director, as Steve Etkin will be leaving this position later in the year.

To commemorate Brinkerhoff’s position as AWCI’s president, USG commissioned the oil painting portrait of Nancy.
