MI Windows and Doors, a manufacturer of precision-built vinyl and aluminum windows and sliding patio doors, entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Milgard Windows & Doors from parent company Masco Corporation. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
The acquisition combines two brands in the residential window industry, both born from humble beginnings – MI as an insect screen fabricator and Milgard as a glass shop. MI is well-known throughout the eastern and southern United States, while Milgard is one of the most trusted names in the western United States.
Matt DeSoto, MI CEO said, “This acquisition aligns with our strategies to diversify our product offering, balance the end markets we serve, and expand our presence in growing markets. Milgard’s dedication to manufacturing high-quality, market-preferred windows and doors makes it a natural fit for MI, as both companies share a family-first culture where team member and customer satisfaction are top priorities. We are pleased to welcome the Milgard team to the MI family, and we are confident they will help us achieve our Vision to be the most valuable brand in the fenestration industry.”
Vishal Singh, Milgard President said, “MI has a deep history in the window industry, and we are excited about the opportunity to join their first-class organization. As part of the MI team, we will be better positioned to enhance our growth and continue delivering the best products and customer experiences to our dedicated dealer network.
Highlights of the acquisition include:
- Cultural alignment and family-first values
- Committed network of long-term, loyal customers
- A balanced sales portfolio of new construction and repair/remodel (R&R) products
- Enhanced market synchronization to meet regional consumption demands
- Broadened distribution network able to deliver quality products to diverse end-use markets
