A construction company was recently fined $4,583.98 for having unsafe scaffolding and giving false information to an inspector while working on a home in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Tri-City News reported.
A public report from WorkSafeBC stated that A Deep Stucco Ltd., which is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, used damaged planks to set up work platforms and “knowingly provided” false information to an inspector.
The inspector found scaffolding with missing cross braces and work platforms with damaged planks, which caused a stop-use order to be issued.
It is unknown if the safety violations led to anyone being injured or a different accident.
“In addition, the firm did not provide accurate information about who was doing the stucco work,” the report said.
