The EIFS Industry Members Association held its “EIFS Hero Awards” ceremony on April 26 at the EIMA Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, California. A total of 15 EIFS projects received awards, and for the first time in the five-year history of the program, two projects took the top prize, the prestigious “Heroes of the Year.”
EIMA announced that Amy Schmidt of the American Chemistry Council will be speaking at the 2023 EIMA Annual Meeting. Schmidt will address the EIMA membership during the Welcome Luncheon on Wednesday, April 26 at noon.
Following up on this past summer’s board-adopted strategic plan, the EIFS Industry Members Association held its inaugural Fall Board and Working Group Conference in Atlanta on Nov. 2-3.
EIMA has announced a Call for Entries for the 2022 EIFS Project Hero Awards. The EIFS Hero Awards program, now in its fifth year, recognizes outstanding projects in the EIFS industry in a variety of building categories. Award winning entries will demonstrate the unique attributes of exterior insulation and finish systems.
The EIFS Industry Members Association Board of Directors proudly announced that Stephen T. Sears is now the new Executive Director and CEO of EIMA. Sears’ selection follows a months-long search conducted by EIMA’s Board, fulfilling its due diligence obligation to the EIMA membership.
On June 2, EIMA staff members met with leaders of the Operative Plasterers' & Cement Masons' International Association to discuss ways in which the organizations can collaborate in advancing the EIFS industry.
As mentioned in the EIFS-Briefs (September-October-2021.pdf on eima.com), the New York City Council passed an updated code that will take effect on November 7. Filed under Int. No. 2261-2021, the new code “completes the most recent code revision cycle with amendments to the New York City Building, Fuel Gas, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes, based on the 2015 editions of the International Building, Fuel Gas, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes published by the International Code Council, where necessary, modifying or adding new text tailored to the unique needs and characteristics of the City’s built environment.”
