This month the International Code Council celebrates its 15-year anniversary as an international association dedicated to building safety in the U.S. and around the world.

The International Code Council and the ICC Evaluation Service facilitated new partnerships, strengthened existing relationships and brought together leaders from across the building industry at the fifth annual Design and Construction Week in Orlando, Florida.

Officials with the International Code Council announced the theme “Building Codes Save Lives,” will be used for May’s events.

The International Code Council unveiled a new cloud-based testing system which enables candidates to take ICC certification exams at their convenience on their home or office computer.
 

The ICC board began a formal process to allow stakeholders the opportunity to provide feedback to the board on the code development process. The board actions regarding the process has been posted.

Post-frame construction has been used in place of more conventional construction methods in just about every building type. 

Michael Wich, the director of building code administration and chief building official for the South Central Planning and Development Commission in Houma, La., has been appointed to the International Code Council Board of Directors. 

MFM Building Products, a manufacturer of a full envelope of waterproofing and weather barrier products for the building industry, announced that three of the company’s window flashing tapes now have ICC Approval, Evaluation Report ESR-2783. WindowWrap PSX-20, WindowWrap PowerBond and WindowWrap White meet the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for Flexible Flashing Materials (AC148), IBC and IRC 2015 standards.
