Honeywell Solstice LBA, a non-ozone-depleting, non-flammable, hydrofluoroolefin blowing agent, was recognized by the American Chemical Society with a 2023 ACS Heroes of Chemistry Award. Honeywell Solstice LBA has an ultra-low global warming potential of 1, 99.9 percent lower than that of hydrofluorocarbon blowing agents.

Award winners were announced by ATAS for their 2022 Project of the Year competition. There were seven award categories: commercial roofs, commercial walls, residential roofs, residential walls, accents, sustainable and interiors. Each award recognized projects in which ATAS products were incorporated into the design and construction of the building.

The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute has announced the winners of its 2023 CFSEI Design Excellence and Creative Detail awards. This year’s awards were presented during the 2023 CFSEI Expo, held May 8-10 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans.

Seventy-five years ago, the organization that would become the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association was born, and Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, a member of the ALL Family of Companies, was there as one of eight charter members.

Purdue University Professor Bryan Hubbard was named outstanding educator of 2023 in the field of construction education, the Associated General Contractors of America announced April 17.

American Iron and Steel Institute Vice President of Construction Robert J. Wills, P.E., was recognized with the prestigious American Institute of Steel Construction Lifetime Achievement Award at NASCC: The Steel Conference on April 12 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As part of its annual conference, AWCI held its Excellence in Construction Quality Awards, an annual presentation awarding installers, vendors and distribution partners for quality delivery in eight categories.

Robert J. Easter, FAIA, was honored at A’23 as the 2023 Whitney M. Young Jr. award recipient. Easter, who was welcomed with a standing ovation, thanked AIA for the award and for honoring Young’s legacy.
