EIFS has been approved for inclusion in the 2009 International Building Code and International Residential Code, EIMA announced. The final adoption occurred in mid-September at the 2008 International Code Council’s Annual Conference & Final Action Hearings in Minneapolis.

“Nonresidential construction spending continued growing in July, despite the weak economy and housing slump,” Ken Simonson, chief economist for The Associated General Contractors of America, said in early September following the release of construction spending data from the Census Bureau. The Western Wall and Ceiling Contractors’ Association announced it will be opening a new office in Phoenix. Albert Carrillo has been named the regional manager for the new location.
